It is difficult, nowadays, to dedicate attention to the interior life. Platão, Confúcio, Buda, Goethe spoke about perpetual values, as the center of our life. There one day, when we become old and all our immediate needs will be taken care of, we will come back them to the interior and, if we don’t know where or what is this center, we will suffer.

We are rational, irrational, emotional and spirituals. We are part of a humanity who grows among accomplishments, desires, joys, suffering and pains. We are educators who’s part of this historical moment. We are absolute citizens. All the events have an influence in our day, it may be extraordinary conquests in the most diverse areas that benefits people. It may be unimaginable tragedies, as the September 11, or a mass kidnapping conduct by a terrorist in a Moscow theater, in October 2002, or even hurricanes as the Katrina.

When I found the thesis of Elydio dos Santos Neto in “Educação e Complexidade”, of the Salesiana publishing company, I was motivated to speak in Education. Perhaps a come back to the origin of my education. How difficult it is to speak on Education, especially in a Graduation course. It is an essential part of our responsibility to help the student to become a therapist, or either, an aid professional. The belief of our institute is that to be a therapist is not a gift learned only by doctors and psychologists, but it is also possible to educate professional from other areas who discover the Internal Therapist. The condition of Healing, or either, to cure, to help. In this very complex world, where fabrics interlaces with many threads. To leave the academic minimalism, so in fashion in the last century, and to be able to extend the vision and understand that the postmodern man is so complex that only one theory is not enough to understand the human being.

What is to be people in this world, how to develop this construction? What are the needs of our time?

The truth is that everybody want to live better and we, educators, have to take an educative action in order to understand that is possible to live better in moments of crisis and suffering

Edgar Morin says we need to educate for the uncertainty. When he says that, he is not confirming that there are not certainties. Certainties exists, but among this huge complexity that constantly defies and disassembles our explicative models.

In the book “The seven Learning necessary to Future Education”, he says that to teach to the human condition, individual and collective, we must aware of the human complexity. We are, at the same time, wise and wild, diligent and playful, empirical and imaginary, economic and consumerist, prosaic and poetical. We are educators who use three ways to teach:

Information -------------- The simple data we teach the students

Knowledge -------------- As the information was build

Sapience -------------- Entailed to the existence – to itself

Do not lose your mind is one of the basic injunctions in our society. The surrender of the ego requires muscles of the nape of the neck to be flexible, especially those that bind the head to the neck. But, if we don’t give up the ego control, how will we be able to devote ourselves to both body and life? How will we be able to fall in love or to fall asleep?

Alexander Lowen – “Joy”

The proposal of Bio energetic, with the opening of its emotional center, is the discovery of the real Self, that is the place of vibration.

Vibration, for Lowen, means devotion to the life. We know, to happen this surrender we have to go through the character defenses. I intend at this moment to talk about the inserted characters in the modern world. How it would be reading of this complexity of defenses at this moment? How does the characters works? What we want as human being? What are we looking for, how open are we for vibration, for happiness?

First of all lets forget about titles and labels. Let’s think about threads interlacing all the fabrics of the life: The birth, the Family, the Culture, the Cosmos and the Global Village.

The pulse is each cell, each tissue and the entire body beat, what means that they enlarge and contract rhythmically. When this rhythmic pulse is free we feel pleasure, we fell joy and we live deeply the ecstasy.

The opposite is the character defense structures that the individual created from its need to survive in the relation with the exterior world. First with the maternal matrix, and later with the father, school, society and community duties. These defenses lost contact with the internal values as dignity, beauty and favor.

If we talk about the defenses installed in the person in the Oral Development phase, it is necessary to say that we know that, nowadays, Oral is so stimulated through the media that we eat with the eyes. We suffer from Anorexy and abandonment, because “it is not health to eat or it is fattening”. The double cultural message that drive us crazy. To be a kind of freakish means to be more and more accepted because, if spend hours in front of a computer, talking or having sex, it is accepted by the social, we don’t need touch or hide the anguish of creating bonds. We don’t need to look in the eyes.

The Freakish – needs to hide the affection, leaves the world contact because of the fear to die psychologically.

The Oral – famished for affection and uses the society of consumption as the illusion to placate this hungry.

We go from this phase to the Analidade phase.

Everything turns around the product:

My product is qualified, it is your powerful manipulator, I am In.

My product is disqualified and I have to keep it inside me, but also it will be accepted because I will become passive, adequate and good enough to work for the big companies.

The Psychopath – looks for pleasure in the power above of any ethic or moral. I can’t live frustration.

The Masochist – is resentful productive and supports al the internalized emotions until not supporting and explodes them.

We move the Phase: it was born, we are sexualized, and the world was pacific, until now, we didn’t know the difference of the sexes.

Pleasure, pleasure – touch, exchange. It became pleasure in the image. The sexuality became masturbation. Touch – reason. Everything is sexuality, everything is discharged energy, what Reich said about discharge, about encounter, about body fluid became banal:

I can discharge in any situation; consumption, work, drugs, drinks. I become more and more isolated but adapted.

The Falico Narcissist – lives completely integrated to our society feeling so victorious that become blind by the contact with it itself.

The Hysterical – transforms its sexuality into power, lives a performance and keeps itself away from its heart. Lives an intimacy with Prozac in order to avoid the contact with its depression.

Lately I don’t think anymore in the Concept of Integration. To integrate in the body positive aspects of character, refusals, qualities… I think about the functionality, how this body protect itself and works here and now, as a result of its composition with the maternal or paternal matrix. Thought is connected with the theory of complexity of the tissues

I think that Dr. Lowen, when stated the functionality of each character, tried to show to all of us that we must learn how to transform the intimacy and complexity of our time. We have to go through all the emotions that relieve as the anger, cry, fear and love, in order to understand that vibration is the joy to get involved with the body and the life.

To finish I want to talk about vibration in Bio energetic analysis that built my professional identity, Vibration in the Social Clinic of our Institute that built the identity of our Formation. Vibration in the future projects as Organizational Bio energetic and other projects that will join ours. Vibration with my Direction that believed in the construction of our Institute and to finish, Vibration with the students who are with us, the CBT’s that have just graduated.

Let’s build our future with a fabric of this Institute that is made with very complex thread, and each thread is bound to other threats in other Institutes in Brazil, Europe and US.
