Reich thought was very badly interpreted, because at its time he was considered the number one public enemy and also a man of “pornographic thought”. The politic-social power of the time distorted the vision of Reich on the orgasm function. For them it was very dangerous to free the reins of the pleasure and build a society based on the certainty that sexuality is life power.
Orgasm is a fluid in motion it is universal. Reich used to describe the peak of orgasm as "La petite mort", taking off this expression from the French, leaving the sensation of the death, without dying. It is the moment of the triumphal act, of cosmic orgasm, of the allegoric, that in the man passes by so fast that he may turn aside and sleep. While, for the woman, who is slower and sensual, it always needs more stimulation, more affection, and more words of love. Perhaps at this moment the man looks at the woman with admiration and envies for its capacity of multiple orgasms.
It is necessary to respect the rhythms, the different times of these two worlds. Despite the discord, new scientific research point that the feminine orgasm happens in the frontal part of the brain and the masculine orgasm happens in the hipotalamo - the beginning of the differences.
We may ask ourselves how the excitement in the body is experienced inside the orgasmic curve structure, where the peripheral excitement would lead the internal spasms that would go through the electricity of the internal body? Perhaps we did not leave the periphery.
One of the landmarks of the sexuality started when the women had discovered the clitoris. Of course that it was born with it. As we born with our other organs, but it was necessary “to be discovered” because the women seemed to not be able or not to have the lesser curiosity to explore its own body or they had made of this a great secret. It was the discovery of the “New World”.

Landmarks of Sexuality
- The “Discovery of the clitoris”
- The Point “G”
- The Viagra
- The Condom
- The HIV
- The Contraceptive

The appearing of the contraceptive pill changed the feminine behavior, giving the chance to the women to leave the fear of pregnancy for the freedom of orgasm. The concept of masturbation and perversion had been introduced in the daily context.
The discovery of point “G” brought first the possibility of the feminine expansion and later it became a orgasmic requirement: the search became anxiety for many women. Came the interrogation: The Point “G” exists? The fact is that it is an erotic zone to be explored and that deserves attention. |

Beside of this sexual liberation, it came the Aids and the condom, which placed the sex again in the repression by the possibility of contamination and even death. The world repressed the desires again. Some had taken it seriously and others ignored it.
The Viagra advent brought to all the possibility to have sexuality to a longer time.
The media talks more and more openly about sex, the advertising, the detailed explanation to the teenagers, the sex in the adult age, the sex in the oldness, the sex in the computer (virtual sex). Never talked that much about sex. And what is the result? Is the world better? |

The fact is that, today, the sexuality of the man and women is printed in magazines, newspapers and even in the television. Today it is possible to buy “sex guides” and to get information about this subject in all the media. The present man gets confused and lost with so much information. The media, thanks to the technology, is today responsible for the formation of the public opinion and what they bring to us is hyper pornography. The hyper exposure of the sexuality that becomes banal the function of the pleasure in the present society.
The doctors solve the problem of impotence, the feminine physiology were mapped, we copy the sex of the eastern world and it seems that we are more and more virtual and distant from the heart.
The function of the orgasm in the current world was being put in second place. The cult to the image, the concern with the “beautiful” body, became the depositary of the sexuality.
The concept of the postmodern movement, including of the sexuality, is already surpassed. We live the culture of excess, the age of “hyper”.
“In an essay just released in France, the philosopher Gilles Lipovetsky defends that the postmodern never existed and affirms that the contemporaneous society lives today close to schizophrenia, divided between the culture of excess and the moderation”. |

The hyper modernism p ut us in touch with the speed of the time. The speed of the information makes us, while starting to digest the emotion, have to deal with another one.
Maybe we reached the total orgasm? It seems that we are in the age of masturbation. The loneness, the laziness to talk. Nowadays, the cult to the image leaves us distant from a filled pelvis. |
